What is Holy Reflection and Devotional Living?

Holy Reflection and Devotional Living is the epitome of spiritual direction with the Holy Spirit as our guide.

Spiritual direction is “help given by one Christian to another which enables that person to pay attention to God’s personal communication to him or her, to respond to this personally communicating God, to grow in intimacy with this God, and to live out the consequences of the relationship.” (William A. Barry and William J. Connolly, The Practice of Spiritual Direction)

In Holy Reflection we immerse ourselves in communion with Father, Son, and Spirit through prayer, fasting, and studying and meditating on the Scriptures.  We learn to know and hear the voice of the Shepherd1 and how to be led by the Spirit2, growing in intimacy with God.  In Devotional Living we work out our salvation3 by living out the consequences of our relationship with God.

Although the Holy Spirit is our guide, Holy Reflection and Devotional Living is not a lone-ranger lifestyle.  It is best practiced with those who are our spiritual family – those who know us and love us in best and worst of times.
